BITTER END TENNESEE, the place where all things end. No one knows how this town got its name, of if anyone was involved or not. Located near the Smoky Mountains National Park we would hope that it is not all a bitter end.
It could be if you fell off a cliff. Or if you come out the end of a bear. It could be if you try and make too much mischief in this town. Personally i like the folk lore that I was once told. That the two original people in the area the Clancy’s caused the name.
Lore has it that Mr. Clancy pissed off Mrs. Clancy, and she withheld sex from him till the better end. 25 years worth. But who knows. It could be that the truth is different. Maybe it got its name from a vey bitter person who remained bitter till the moment they died.
BITTER END TENNESEE is reportedly the place that most old people like to go to die. They wander up into the mountains and hang out till the end. But locals would say that anything that comes to an end in the town is bitter.
Like the end of a bowl of chili or the bottom of the bucket of chicken.
