MAN CUT SELF SHARPENING ILLEGAL. WOW. So here is the story. A man working in a small restaurant in Lodi California was cutting a tomato with a dull knife. The slices were put on a BLT and sent out to the person wo ordered it. This all happened almost a year ago.
This person was so offended to receive a BLT with not perfect tomato slices that they sent it back. The man grabbed a different knife and tried again. But the same result happened. He then had the bright caveman idea to go out the back door and find a rock. Why not? This is the way it was done in old times.
He brought the rock back in and went to work. And yes it worked. As he sliced the tomato with his new sharpened blade, it went right through his finger tip and he never felt a thing. Yep he got it that sharp.
So the BLT went back out and the customer was happy. But that soon turned to horror as the finger tip fell out from the BLT. She screamed as if someone had shot her. The customer fled the restaurant.
Nothing else happened till now. So the woman raised a stink about it with her inner circle, whom in turn raised a stink with higher circles. Eventually the whole thing made it to the city council. They voted infamously to stop the sharpening of any knife by anyone without a sharpening license.
According to them this will stop the supply of finger tips ending up in the food supply. So now you have to call a licensed sharpener when your blades get dull. They will come to you, and bring out the edge of your knife, blade, axe or whatever you need sharp. Yep
